Christmas Evening, Wednesday 13th December

As we enter the last few days of the Autumn Term, looking forward to Christmas, those at Caistor Parish Church on Wednesday evening, were given a musical feast to gladden the heart and to bring light to our winter. Headmaster Roger Hale welcomed the congregation to the service, after the traditional carol 'Once in Royal David's city' was performed as a solo and joined by the congregation after the first verse. The school's Year 7 Choir performed a spectacular version of 'Winds though the Olive Trees', which gave a good sense of the season's flavours of joy and expectation. We must thank our splendid Music department, Friends of the school and all the students who performed readings, or contributed to the orchestra or choir in some way. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

The Autumn Concert, Wednesday 7th December

The Autumn Concert is always an enjoyable event as it allows pupils of varying experience a chance to perform to a large and supportive audience, and this year's event was no exception. The first half was dominated by soloists, violinists and the choir from all year groups, all giving a standard of performance that reflects how much potential these young musicians have. In the second half, more experienced soloists, singing groups and bands took to the floor in a variety of styles. Special mention must go to Y12 student Benedict Harris, for surprising us all with his playing of the accordion, a performance which kept the audience mesmerised as they lived the performance with him.

Christmas Lunch,the best ever?

Christmas lunch was declared as the "best ever" by Head of 6th Form Mr Terry McTernan, as he finished off his final course. This annual event is always a special treat for the staff and students of the school and credit must be given to our outstanding catering staff, led by Mrs Amanda Gould, for making this happen. This year's dining hall was full with staff and pupils feasting together, served by the catering staff and senior leadership team. Special thanks must go to all the staff who helped to support this event. Make sure you thank the catering staff when you see them!
